Based on Wave retrieval methodology in the MIZ using SAR described in D4.1 attenuation of swell in the MIZ can been estimated from a reference Sentinel1 SAR dataset in the winter 2014-2015.

Using these Sentinel1 SAR IW mode acquisitions in the arctic our goal was to estimate wave attenuation rate and attempt to link it to sea ice concentration, type and thickness.
